Feature Photographer 2013 The first time Tim Kemple picked up a camera, it changed his life. He remembers the moment, ten years in the past, like it was yesterday because he wrote it down in his journal; he was “perpetually stoked, penniless and loving every minute of it.” Now, at the age of 29, he’s got more or less the same mindset, though he’s got far more experience to his name. Tim was Climbing Magazine’s first Senior Contributing Photographer, and his work has appeared in Men’s Journal, Outside and Popular Photography. He’s won four PDN ‘Best of’ Awards for his photography and some of his clients now include The North Face, Eastern Mountain Sports and Mountain Hardware.
Photographer Chris Burkard is well known as a unique visionary whose photography as the ability to catapult the viewer into the moment. At 26 years old, Chris has accomplished a style and composition all his own, leaving many to instantly recognize a “Burkard Photo”. Through his photography, Chris strives to capture the moments in between, and to document the lifestyle of the sport, not just the action.
Photographer Draper White credits his passion for the outdoors for giving him the fuel to do his work as a photographer. After graduating from the Hallmark Institute of Photography in 2004, Draper pursued his dream by moving to Colorado to assist award-winning photographer and director Tyler Stableford. In recent years, with the introduction of the DSLR camera, which shoots both stills and video, Draper found the opportunity to work as a cinematographer and still photographer. Although Draper’s work takes him around the world, he calls Carbondale, Colorado home.
Feature Photographer 2012 Ben Moon is a self-taught adventure, lifestyle, and music photographer and video artist. Surviving cancer at a young age instilled a deep appreciation for every moment and allowed for greater connection with the inspiring individuals he documents, and the beauty of the environment around him. Ben is happy to call Portland, Oregon home and enjoys its bike-friendly creative culture, access to incredible surf and rock climbing, and the variety of gorgeous locations the Pacific Northwest has to offer.
Photographer As a professional action sports photographer and filmmaker, Nicolas seeks to consistently create new and captivating imagery. This effort has landed him four magazine covers in the past year, an award-winning full length ski film and award winning short films. Nic is a co-founder of Dendrite Studios and he has many working collaborations, including work with b4apres Media and Second Base Films/The Coastal Crew. With an artistic eye and the ability to connect with the people and environment that he works with, Nic is able to achieve emotion filled imagery everywhere he shoots. “Visual art is about capturing moments in time, and the best moments are filled with emotion and energy and that is what my photographs and films are all about.”
Feature Photographer 2011 Coming from a fashion background, richards’ camera has taken him from the controlled and complex studio to the wild and remote corners of nepal and Pakistan…all in the attempt to capture not only the soul of adventure and exploration, but the ‘beauty’ inherent in our modern society as well. delivering for both commercial and editorial clients alike, his client list includes national geographic magazine, outside, the new york times, red bull, and fossil. his film work has won awards at nearly every major adventure film festival including the grand prize at the banff mountain film festival. in 2011, he was awarded the national geographic adventurer of the year award for his efforts as both a climber and visual story teller.
