The 5Point Film Festival has just completed the third year of our adventure scholarship program called the 5Point Dream Project – presented by Timbers Resorts. This unique program offers outstanding high school students (from Aspen to Parachute) the chance to explore their own personal boundaries and dreams. The five students that best exemplify 5Point’s five guiding principles and will receive a $1,500 scholarship to embark on a life-changing opportunity and follow their passions. Check out our RECIPIENTS page to learn what past winners accomplished on their unique adventures!
Through its events, 5Point Film aims to bring inspiring stories, passionate people, and an engaged audience together to share past experiences and inspire new adventures. With deep connections to our local community and an appreciation for today’s youth, we developed a student grant program with Timbers Resorts to inspire that next generation of passionate dreamers: The Dream Project.
Sending 5 high school students out on life-changing adventures, we hope to spark a fire within them to forever explore, innovate, and problem solve. While we are an outdoor film festival by trade, we accept projects of all types, inspired by any passion. With no outdoor or film requirements, students can pursue ANY PASSION of theirs: lead a youth backpacking trip in the Roaring Fork Valley, take a cooking class in Denver, shadow writers in New York, teach soccer in Puerto Rico, kayak and perform malaria work in Uganda, and much, much more! All we require is that you are prepared to learn, have a positive impact on a community, and have fun!
Need something to do for the summer? Want to learn a new skill? Driven to push yourself into new environments? Want to learn from professionals in a certain field? Have a passion, but need the means to pursue it? Want to have an incredible adventure? Applications for the 2014 DREAM PROJECT are currently being accepted. The deadline for interested applicants is March, 3rd, 2014 and winners will be selected in early March 2014.
