Jeff Johnson
Jeff Johnson grew up landlocked in Danville, California, and moved to Hawaii as soon as he graduated high school. He lived on the North Shore of Oahu for fifteen years where he juggled two jobs: a North Shore City and County lifeguard and an international flight attendant for a commercial airline. These two jobs provided him a unique lifestyle giving him an in-depth understanding of the ocean from some of the world's renowned watermen, and travel the world extensively. A self-taught writer and photographer, Jeff has combined these two talents to chronicle his experiences. His stories and photographs have appeared in The Surfer’s Journal, Surfer’s Path, Surfer, Surfing, Alpinist and Outside magazine. The Surfer's Journal describes him as, "a piece of true grit,” and someone who, "doesn't back down when sketching the seamier side of the surf ghetto".
His first book, Bend to Baja: A biofuel powered surfing and climbing road trip, was published in 2006.
His newest project, 180 South: Conquerors of the useless, is a documentary film and coffee table book due to release in the spring of 2010.
Jeff now resides in Ventura, California where he works full-time for Patagonia Inc. as a staff photographer, writer, and also assists with product development. He divides his time between the mountains and the ocean.
Ben Knight
My name is Ben and I prefer ketchup on my pizza. Every bite to be exact. I like to hold the slice in my left hand and the ketchup bottle in my right. I'm left eye dominant, I'm most at home in a trailer park, I'm obsessed with bikes, cameras and sugar, I hate canned peas, I have monster truck envy, bacon is a gift from God, girls are smart, sunrise is too early, cats are fascinating, ice cream should be hard-frozen and eaten with a fork and movies about stealing things are my favorite.

Mikey Schaefer
Mikey Schaefer found his love for the outdoors at a very young age growing up in the Pacific Northwest. His love broadened while traveling around the West with his grandparents during summer vacations. At the age of 13, Mikey was introduced to climbing during a stay in Breckenridge, CO. His older brother, John, and he laced up their Converse tennis shoes as tight as they would go and proceeded to solo many short climbs just outside of town. Quickly they realized there was a lot they would need to learn. Over then next couple years Mikey's passion for climbing grew and culminated with an attempt to climb El Captain, in Yosemite, CA at the age of 17. Though his first attempt failed, he returned a couple months later and completed the climb. Mikey has now spent the last 10 climbing seasons in Yosemite. After those first few seasons he was able to get a job with the Yosemite Mountaineering School, where he was a climbing guide for the last 6 years. Over the years he has been introduced to the culture of travelers and vagabonds that roam like migratory birds from one climbing destination to another. And, Mikey has followed suit. He now spends his time traveling to such places as Argentine Patagonia, Pakistan, Thailand and various destinations around the Western United States.
Recently he returned to another early interest, photography. While traveling the world Mikey captures the beauty that he is fortunate to see. It gives him great pleasure to share his experiences and he hopes his images will inspire people to get out and see all that he sees.
