Thank you for your interest in submitting your love, passion and work to 5Point Film.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

PLEASE INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING ITEMS WITH YOUR ENTRY FORM FOR THE FESTIVAL
1. Link to an online accessible digital screener (ie. Vimeo, Youtube, etc.)*
2. A completed Submission Form with film synopsis

*5Point prefers digital files. If a digital file is unavailable, please contact Jim (Jim@5pointfilm.org).

IF YOUR FILM IS ACCEPTED TO THE FESTIVAL
Please provide the following in digital format:
1. High resolution promotional images online (4×6 at 300dpi is preferable)
2. Press pack with production credits and biographies
3. Exhibition format Quicktime file, HD trailer, and HD clips*

*Our preferred export settings for the Festival are Quicktime files Apple Pro Res 422 (HQ) at HDTV 1920×1080 square pixels. Audio 48kHz,
24-bit, discrete channel. Label photographs with the film title and photo credit. Clips and trailers will be used for promotional
purposes.

What does it cost to submit a film?
Submissions are $10 and the fee goes to the 5 Point Film Fund, a grant program that supports small, independent short film projects.

What do I get if my films accepted to the festival?
The prince/princess treatment: an all-access pass to the festival, entry to our VIP room and our filmmaker dinner, your film projected on a big screen with a $100,000 projector for hundreds of inspired people, the opportunity to interact with our awesome corporate partners, our love and admiration, warm-fuzzy acceptance into the 5point filmmaker family… Did I mention tons of free Sierra Nevada beer?

What film length do you recommend?
5Point shows short films from 1 minute to 45 minutes, but a vast majority of our films are under 45 minutes. In fact, at this time we only have one feature length slot for the entire festival. When in doubt, send us a shorter cut — we may ask filmmakers to trim film length in order to fit it in our program.

What types of films to you accept?
As an adventure film festival, our core films tell stories over the backdrop of biking, skiing, surfing, kayaking, climbing, and other adventure sports, but we’re not afraid to step out of these constraints if a film embodies our five guiding principles: respect, commitment, humility, purpose and balance. We’re primarily interested in the human element and story. If it inspires adventure of any sort, we dig it.

Why should I come to the festival?
You should come to connect with an audience that includes filmmakers, producers, athletes, composers, artists, outdoor industry professionals, outdoor industry film and marketing executives, and an unparalleled community. Also to be a part of the madness and to grow and find inspiration.

Do you present awards?
Yes, we present seven different film awards at the Festival: Best of Festival, Spirit of Adventure, Most Inspiring Story, Best Cinematography, Creative Excellence, Pure Joy, and People’s Choice. Awards are presented on Sunday of the festival. Check our past award winners here.
