The 2022 Adventure Filmmakers Pitch Event


A central part of our mission at 5Point is nurturing and supporting the next generation of adventure filmmakers. Fortunately for us, our good friends at Stio feel the same way. Together, we’re thrilled to launch the 1st Annual Adventure Filmmakers Pitch Event!

 The event will give a select number of filmmakers the opportunity to pitch their film ideas in front of a live audience at our 15th annual flagship festival in Carbondale, Colorado (Saturday, April 23). The filmmaker with the winning pitch will receive $15,000 to kickstart their project and help make their vision a reality.

Must be a short (up to 30 minutes) documentary film

Story must touch one or more of the Stio and 5Point Pillars:

Authentic Mountain Life

Purpose, Respect, Commitment, Humility & Balance

Film must be completed by March 1, 2023 for a 5Point World Premiere in April, 2023

Stio and 5Point logos must be included as presenting
sponsors of film in the opening credits

Filmmaker must be able to attend 5Point Film Festival in April 2022 to pitch the film, as well as 5Point 2023 for the premier



Filmmakers submit films per application details below during the submission period of Tuesday, February 8 – Thursday, March 24, 2022

On Monday, March 28, 2022 five (5) finalists will receive an invitation to attend 5Point to pitch their film

In order to be eligible for the award, the filmmaker must be able to attend 5Point Film Fest in Carbondale for the pitch event on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Finalists are responsible for covering their travel and lodging costs. Each finalist will receive an all-access pass to 5Point Film and a Stio swag bag.


The Pitch Event

The Pitch Event will occur Saturday, April 23, 2022 

Each finalist will be given 7 minutes to pitch their idea to the panelists and audience. The jury has 8 minutes to ask questions about the project.

Footage, photos and other visual aids can be used throughout the pitch.

 Up to two people are permitted to participate in the pitch (i.e. filmmaking partners, filmmaker and key character, etc).

Deadline: Thursday, March 24, 2022
