A central part of our mission at 5Point is supporting the next generation of adventure filmmakers. Fortunately for us, our good friends at Stio feel the same way. Together, we’re thrilled to announce the return of the Adventure Filmmakers Pitch Event!
The event will give five filmmakers the opportunity to pitch their film ideas in front of a live audience at our 16th Annual Flagship Festival in Carbondale, Colorado (Saturday, April 22). The filmmaker with the winning pitch will receive $15,000 to kickstart their project and help make their vision a reality.

Must be a short (up to 30 minutes) documentary film

Film must be completed by March 1, 2024 for a 5Point World Premiere in April, 2024
Stio and 5Point logos must be included as presenting sponsors of the film in the opening credits
Filmmaker must be able to attend 5Point Film Festival in April 2023 to pitch the film, as well as 5Point 2024 for the world premiere
Filmmakers submit proposals per application details below during the submission period from Thursday, September 8, 2022 – Wednesday, February 8, 2023.
On Wednesday, February 15, 2023 five finalists will receive an invitation to pitch their film in person.
In order to be eligible for the award, the filmmaker must be able to attend the 5Point Flagship Festival in Carbondale for the pitch event on Saturday, April 22, 2023. Finalists are responsible for covering their travel and lodging expenses. Each finalist will receive an all-access pass and a Stio swag bag.
The Pitch Event:
The Pitch Event will take place Saturday, April 22, 2023
Each finalist will be given 7 minutes to pitch their idea to the panelists and live audience. The jury will then have 8 minutes to ask questions about the project.
Footage, photos and other visual aids can be used throughout the pitch.
Up to two people are permitted to participate in the pitch (i.e. filmmaking partners, filmmaker and key character, etc).
